Atelier Calypso
We create sculptural jewellery with a curator’s eye: pieces conceived as objects in their own right, designed to hold presence on the body as much as they do in space. Our pieces are made in Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar, where craftsmanship has long been an inherent part of the city’s cultural fabric. Here, contemporary design meets generations of jewellery-making knowledge, creating a dialogue between the new and the deeply rooted.

Atelier Calypso was founded in 2025 by Ecem Meriç (b. 2000, Turkey), a designer and contemporary art curator. Her practice moves between jewellery, exhibition-making and cultural production, with a particular interest in objects, bodies and the ways we encounter them. Alongside Calypso, Ecem co-founded Plasma Contemporary, a platform supporting women artists, and leads a France-registered association dedicated to social and cultural projects.

Our Core Pillars
Colour introduces character into form. Through the interplay of stones, metals and contrasting tones, familiar silhouettes take on unexpected qualities. Each combination is considered as a composition in its own right, balancing harmony with a degree of tension.
